Enrique Solinas - Diez poemas / Ten Poems
Poems translated by Jorge Paolantonio
Magnificat
Hoy desperté y mi cuerpo
tenía olor a flores,
“Soy santo”, me dije, “soy santo”.
y a nadie importa.
A veces se pierde y está bien.
La inmortalidad es algo demasiado alto,
demasiado pesado, demasiado lejano.
A veces se pierde y está bien.
Estoy listo,
estoy listo.
Por lo menos,
habré intentado mis palabras para no morir.
La que no está
Veníamos a reclamar
la transparencia nuestra de su cuerpo.
Hablaba tanto la difunta
que su silencio nadie
podía callar.
Qué tristeza,
los pájaros cantan la mañana.
Su cuerpo de nosotros tan perdido,
tantas veces perdido en nosotros.
Qué tristeza:
ser tan difunta
justo cuando veníamos
a reclamar su corazón.
Rutina
Sabe
que la prolija autopsia que realiza
es para que se abran
todas las puertas de la luz.
Entiende el mundo
y por eso exige:
De ahora en más y para siempre
el perdón
no se convertirá en olvido.
La noche en el jardín
Una pequeña música nocturna
en forma de viento.
Los chicos cazan luciérnagas
y ponen las manos
como para rezar.
Como si Dios fuera una luciérnaga
y se dejara atrapar
para romper el silencio.
Como si el milagro fuera que Dios
sea una luciérnaga
para no sentirnos
tan solos.
Nido vacío
Sentado en la noche puedo ver
un nido que pronto desaparecerá.
Desde el poste de luz
ha caído un pájaro
hasta su cielo.
El padre acompaña resignado
al que no estaba listo
para volar.
Llama dos o tres veces, luego
permanece inmóvil.
Su cuerpo es esa nada que brilla;
esa oración
de olvido sin palabras;
esa canción
oscura
al aire libre.
Tengo frío en los pies,
mañana
alguien barrerá el cielo.
¿Cómo es posible olvidar
tanta belleza abandonada?,
pienso.
¿Qué ha de ser de nosotros
cuando nos suceda lo mismo?
Mi padre es leve
Mi padre es leve como una flor
cuando en otoño cae como las hojas
del libro que alguna vez leyó
al calor del invierno.
Cuando partas de aquí,
Padre,
partiré también.
Algo tuyo
quedará en mí,
siempre.
Y siempre algo de mí
se irá contigo.
El Rostro de Dios
Esa mujer,
He aquí la cuestión:
fatal y divino.
a mi madre, in memoriam
Encantación
Dice que sí.
Dice que sí, que no, que alguna vez;
dice que sí, que no, que es demasiado;
que el campo, el sueño, el tiempo, la frontera;
“Madre
Purísima
te he traído flores para mí;
Adiós Reina del Cielo,
te he traído flores para mí;
Virgen de las Ciudades,
te he traído flores para mí;
Madre que vives el silencio,
te he traído flores para mí”
Magnificat
I woke up today and my body
Smelled of flowers
A perfume of orgasm and joy .
The obedient animals followed
The violent and civic course.
Traffic in the streets cracked into two
Every time he wished to cross
Towards the other side
I heard several voices
And I understood all the world's words.
Two red marks on my hand
Announced the transformation
"I'm a holy man", I said to myself, "I'm holy"
"In the excess of life
And death
One finds redemption".
On the rigor of death
In order to not die one begins to write in the morning
With a cigarette in hand
And that patience for the absolute
Nobody is able to run.
We have writing and silence
When the evening comes
And cigarette smoke on your skin
And still another cigarette.
How dark is the city after dark
Yet her darkness shows a certainty.
Now we know
That one also dies with good will
And one is able to die as anyone.
Life is left half done,
You think of all that
Which never happened
And nobody cares.
Sometimes you lose and that's all right.
Immortality is much too high,
Too heavy, too far.
Sometimes you lose and that's all right-
I'm ready,
I'm ready.
At least
I will have tried my words to not die.
The one who's not
We came to claim
Our transparence of her body.
The dead woman used to speak so much
That nobody could quell her silence.
How sad,
Birds sing the morning.
Her body so remote from us,
So many times lost on us.
How sad
Her being so dead
The moment we came
To claim her heart
Routine
The youngman rides towards dawn
So as to open and close the world.
It's the breath of childhood which forces him
To rip his heart.
It's the breath of childhood which makes him
Sew his heart with air.
So many words, so many
That there's nothing else
To say.
Dawn is the breath of childhood.
The sun is red.
Exercising
Every night
A man swims in the dark.
His naked body
Travels the body of heaven.
Nothing is expected from him
And at the same he expects
To finish his routine
Only to resume it
The following night.
As if a surgeon
The man swims in the night of memory.
He is a scalpel.
He knows
That the lengthy autopsy he performs
Is meant to open
All the gates of light.
He does understand the world
And therefore he demands:
From now onwards and for good
forgiveness
shall not turn into oblivion.
The night at the garden
A little night music
Like wind.
The children hunt fireflies
And they put their hands
As if in prayer.
As if God was a firefly
And allowed himself to be caught
To break down silence
As if the miracle was God
Being a firefly
So that we don't feel
So lonely.
Empty nest
Sitting at night I can see
A nest which will soon disappear.
From the lampost
A bird has fallen
Into his sky.
The father attends in resignation
That who was not ready yet
To fly.
He calls twice, three times, then
Remains motionless.
The dead body is that nothing that shines;
That prayer
Of speechless oblivion:
That song
Dark
In the open air
My feet are cold,
Tomorrow
Someone will sweep the sky
How can one forget
So much beauty now abandonded?
I think.
What will happen to us
When we undergo the same fortune?
My father is light
My father is light like a flower
When in Autumn falls like the leaves
From the book he once read
To the heat of winter
When you leave from here
Father
I shall also leave
Something yours
Will stay within me
Always
And always something from me
Shall leave with you.
God's face
That woman,
Extended towards never
Under the sheet
Shows no signs of breathing.
She is merely the rest of an image,
The leading character behind the scenes
Unavailable for goodbyes.
On both sides
Her arms are extended and they touch the infinite
The hands rest on East and West
Now unwillingly,
with no intention.
I draw back the sheet and at the same time
A fly flies away as a nymph taken aback.
This is the question:
Her half open lips and the odd skin
Offer a contrast with the gesture of a smile
And the only vitality sign
Is the fly
who has drunk up all of her breathing.
If the woman smiles it's because she knows
She never finished saying. /something
If the woman smiles
It's because she has deceived us
And we'll never learn the cause.
Time passes by as life passes by,
As the beautiful and the sad pass by.
Later the woman will be cut in two parts
To find out the cause of her death.
Then
Her face will change and she'll be someone else,
someone unknown.
Now I know that this is God's face:
a woman leaving and a fly that smiles,
Sharing the same farewell.
The only thing that remains to us is
To cover the body of hopelessness
and behold the night air,
fateful and divine.
At my mother, in memoriam
Incantation
He says yes.
He says yes, he says no, he says sometime;
Says yes, says no; says it is too much;
Speaks about the field, the dream, time, the border;
Speaks about the sun, the house, the tree and the garden.
The dead return to yell
As they ride the horses of fear
And it is a weird pain that which invades the world
As if I was a plague to my own body.
"Madonna
Purissima
I have brought flowers to myself;
Goodbye O Queen of Heaven,
I have brought flowers to myself;
Virgin of the Cities
I have brought flowers to myself;
Mother who lives in silence
I have brought flowers to myself "
He says yes, he says no, he says sometime.
He says no.
